Who are you and why should I let you wear my bookkeeper hat?

I'm glad you asked!

My name is Heidi Hartley. I'm the owner and primary bookeeper at The Bookkeeper Hat.

I've owned service-based businesses for most of my life. I've kept my financial records in spiral notebooks, Excel spreadsheets, desktop accounting software, and, most recently, in cloud-based accounting software.

Throughout the years, I've learned a lot about business and a lot about myself. Two of those things are:

1.) I like bookkeeping.

2.) I really like making my clients happy.

These two facts about me, combined with the fact that there is currently a shortage of qualified bookkeepers, inspired me to establish The Bookkeeper Hat. My goal is to provide accurate and timely cloud-based bookkeeping services that allow entrepreneurs to uncover their potential and grow their businesses.

Maureen

I'm Maureen and I work for Heidi at The Bookkeeper Hat.

I have enjoyed doing bookkeeping and payroll for many years - mainly because I have had the privilege of working for very pleasant people and Heidi is one of the best! It is very satisfying to help someone be organized and keep their finances in order.

Ronica

I'm Ronica and I've been working part-time for Heidi since 2020. I started working for her ASL interpreting company, Words for the Eyes, and then, as her bookkeeping business grew, I started to work for her at The Bookkeeper Hat, too.

I help keep Heidi organized. I manage her files and assist with data entry. I also handle some of the bookkeeping for her businesses.
